Operations during Stage 1 of the Research Resumption

Posted on May 21, 2020June 5, 2020 by Ion Ghiviriga

The Center for NMR Spectroscopy will reopen on Tuesday, May 26, observing social distancing. Users will not be allowed in the NMR rooms, but will leave and pick-up their samples on the corresponding trays at the door to CLB110. Use the signup for B600 and do the drop/pickup at the beginning of the 10 minutes block. Remember the location of your samples in the tray (take picture?) , return to your lab and fill in the Sample Submission Form. Once your samples are run, you can retrieve the data from the B600 using WinSCP. The directory is /opt/topspin3.5pl7/B600_data/your_username. Process the spectra on your computer using any of these pieces of software. I recommend Mnova. If you have any questions, ask bellow.

    Dr. Ion,

What’s the situation in the night time. Are we allowed to take an NMR in the nighttime, especially how about setting up 2D NMR and take up before the regular time begins?

      Vineet,
No users are to enter the NMR rooms at any time. Have a look at the Sample Submission Form and select the 2D experiments you want, or leave the samples to be run by me, the last entry on the form. The operator will set the lengthy experiments be run overnight, depending on the work load.
      Best,
      Ion
